Who is shown Methyluracil?

The drug is prescribed for agranulocyte angina, chronic benzene intoxications, leukopenia, chemotherapy-induced tumors, X-rays and radiotherapy and other factors. They are also used for healing wounds, trophic ulcers, stomach ulcer and duodenal ulcer, chronic gastritis, pancreatitis, rectitis, sigmoiditis, ulcerative colitis.

How to use Metuluracil?

Tablets

Inside during or after a meal. Adults are prescribed in a dose of 0.5 g 4 times a day( if necessary, up to 6 times a day).Children aged 3 to 8 years - 0.25 grams, after 8 years - 0.25-0.5 g 3 times a day. The course of treatment for diseases of the digestive tract is usually 30-40 days, i

n other cases the course can be less prolonged.

Rectal suppositories

The suppository is released from the contoured package and injected rectally. Apply 1 to 4 suppositories per day.

Methyluracil is advisable to prescribe for mild forms of leukopenia. When a disease of moderate severity of the drug is taken only after the restoration of impaired regeneration of blood cells. In severe forms of hemopoiesis, methyluracil is not prescribed. During pregnancy and breast-feeding the drug is used with caution.

Side effects of Methyluracil.

As a rule, the drug is well tolerated, but some patients may have skin-allergic reactions( urticaria), headache, dizziness.

Who is contraindicated in Methyluracil?

The drug is contraindicated in acute and chronic leukemic( usually myeloid) forms of leukemia, lymphangulomatosis, malignant bone marrow diseases.
